This year I'm chair of the show for SLOPE (San Luis Outdoor Painters for the Environment). The show will benefit the Chimineas Ranch Foundation as they support the Chimineas Ranch as an ecological reserve involved in research and historical preservation. And the show is only just over two weeks away.
We've been organizing and painting for almost two years. The invitations are out and painters are finishing up their paintings. Now it's those millions of details to make sure the event goes well. Sales desk, set-up, inventories, lighting, directions, labels, artist info, wrapping materials, auction volunteers and much more. Fortunately, the Foundation is taking care of the reception itself including food, tents, music, raffle, auctioneer. The event is outside, so we need to be concerned about the weather.
Hopefully everything will go smoothly...the weather will be perfect, the wildflowers will be in bloom, lots of folks will attend and have a great time, and go home with lots of paintings to add to their collections.
Meanwhile I hope I can sleep well at night...
